Our
friends Mick and Margaret Heath organize this event for charity every
year on the August bank holiday and this year we decided to attend (Having
been invited before and not having made it).
The Fayre revolves around a massive car
boot sale but they have added many more attractions.
Vintage
car and tractor displays, rare breeds (including Emus), and the general
farm livestock were on display as well as a milking demonstration with
the cows being milked down one side of the milking parlour with people
watching on the other side.
Also
there were many sideshows such as archery displays (Sarah hit the target
(the side of a Barn:-) 5 0ut of 6 times),
clay pigeon shooting (Simon shot 2 out of 5 in the "have a go"
stand, Claims the 3 he missed were due to blank cartridges:-)),
ferret racing, together with bouncy castle and other fairground attractions.
In
the main ring we were given a gun dog display and watched some stunt
riders perform before raiding the barbecue for lunch where we caught
up with Mick pictured here with sauce bottle in hand.
We left having all enjoyed ourselves
and been very impressed with the way that people could get a taste of
the country (6000+ visitors can't be wrong).
Mick will soon have his own site up and
running and we shall inform you when it goes on-line and with what we
saw I'll have to watch my laurels!
