The Barn was used much more in 1970 as we used to mill and mix all the cattle feed.

Ingredients were delivered in bags and were mixed in the mixer and put into the corn barrow which was wheeled around during milking to feed the cows (by bucket) while they were milked.

Also we used a different mill.

This machine worked as a grinder in a similar way to the stone wheels of a water mill.

 

 

 

 

These pictures show a grinding plate in comparison to a stone we found during building of the cubical shed.

The stone was probably part of a horse powered mill from the early 19th century.
